Good morning. Every now and then I am especially thankful to live in Puerto Rico. These last few days have been one of those occasions as I observe your weather...brutal. Apart from the weather, we hope all is well with you.

Since the last blog we have had a couple of events transpire. First was participation in a massive protest by hundreds of churches (35,000 Christians) over the government's plans to forcibly introduce books in all venues of elementary education (public/private schools and home schooling) that promote gender neutral self-identity/expression. In other words, there is no inherent right or wrong sexual behavior. This was the first time in my forty plus years on the island that I have participated in any type of protest.

On a more positive note, Sunday before last was Children's Day, an annual event in the church. The children and youth were in charge of the entire service. They presented two dramas and did two interpretive dances as well. Afterwards, there was food for everyone and a bouncy house for the kids to enjoy. The attendance was good...one-hundred. Actually, the attendance has continued to climb this year. We are tickling the one-hundred marker from eighty-seven to one-hundred and nineteen.

Also, I do not want to fail to mention we had a youth commit his life to the Lord and was baptized two weeks ago.
This Sunday is a special day; the church's anniversary. It is an afternoon event made special by a guest speaker and a special presentation done by one of the church's ministries. Afterwards is (guess what?) a dinner. We expect a good crowd.
I will see you next time.
