The week has been a good one. Tuesday and Wednesday was spent visiting the church members, as we do every week. Santos Torres (a deacon in the church) and I try to visit four or five families each week. That personal contact from the minister is much more important in Latin America than in the States. I have learned in Puerto Rico people are always more important than programs. That seems pretty biblical to me!

Tomorrow is a big day at the church. A couple is to be baptized. Over a year and a half have been invested in this couple slowly leading them to faith in the Lord and obedience in baptism.

Also tomorrow a young man is going to propose to his girlfriend during the church service. This is a first for me in thirty-five years of cross-cultural ministry. At first I was a little taken back at the idea and then I thought, "If people can propose in a public stadium how much more can a man propose to his girlfriend in a church service in front of his Christian brother and sisters."

After church we have guests over for supper; another couple that has been visiting the church for the past four months. Ties need to be strengthened and supper is a perfect opportunity to do just that.

God bless.
