January 30

Good morning. Let me quickly bring you up to date on the Reeces and the church here. Tomorrow night, Friday, we have a concert celebrating Christian music from the past. It should be a delightful evening hearing and singing music that has passed out of vogue in Puerto Rico but still treasured in the hearts of many. After the service there will be the usual goodies in the activity hall.

Last Sunday we had the ordination of deacons. Two men of godly character and a good reputation were chosen for a two-year term. The church chose well.

Youth Retreat, 2014

Last weekend, the youth had their annual retreat. It is an island-wide event sponsored by our church. There was a total of twenty-five campers and seven faculty; six of whom were from Aguadilla. I am always thrilled by the way our youth leaders supervise this retreat and do an outstanding job. I stay out of the event unless they need me as a facilitator.

The attendance has been good this month with counts of 126, 83, 93, and 93. We have had a lot of guests, who are showing a lot of interest in the services with return visits. The enthusiasm is high and the ambiance is positive and joyful.

This coming Sunday, the 2 of February, we have a guest speaker/singer. The gentleman is a pastor of a church on the south side of the island. I was involved with him in an activity a few months back. He has a powerful voice and a good speaker. I believe (and pray) that he will bless the church this coming Sunday.

Thats it! Mary and I hope life is good for you.  God bless you.

Johnathan and Mary
