Hi everyone. Let's catch you up to date with the Reeces. Days are busy. My dear wife said, "These weekends are killing me. I have to go to work to rest." I assure her its not that bad and truthfully she smiles as she complains. Why tired? Let me tell you---

Since our last blog we have had four events transpire. First, our new ministry, Community Outreach, performed its first project. This group of men and women teamed up with seven other churches in town plus some civic organizations to reach out to the poor, outcasts, addicts, and street people. We provided free groceries, food to eat on the site, free clothing for all ages, medical checkups, drug counseling, preaching and a Christian band. It was a beautiful experience for all who participated in the event. The theme was "Amor en Acción"...Caer es permitido, levantarse es obligatorio" (Love in action... To fall is permitted but getting up is obligatory.) The place was filled with people. Even the mayor showed up and thanked everyone for their help. Out of this event a neighboring town asked all of us to do the same for them.

Then, last Friday, we enjoyed a campfire on the church property. I was happy with the turnout. Mary said there were thirty-six present. One of our church members spoke about the Taking up the Yoke of Christ. She did a beautiful job. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. It was a "gimmie"; good friends, ubiquitous hot dogs and soda ...and Christ exalted. Most everyone stayed until 11:15...until I turned out the lights and locked the building....I went home :-).

Saturday, the Mujeres Unidas ministry had their first event; an afternoon focused on prayer. They called the event, "Prayer Warriors". I believe ten participated--it was a good beginning to five events throughout the year.
Yesterday at church we celebrate Valentine's Day. There was a full house with just a couple of chairs available. Mary said there were one-hundred and nineteen for church. Afterwards there was cake and soda served on the lawn.
Also, after the service, I baptized a young boy, the first commitment of faith this year. May there be many more.
Well that wraps it up. Until next time..
Johnathan and Mary Reece
