June 26

Good afternoon from Puerto Rico. Since our last blog things have been somewhat subdued around here. Summers are slow for the church. So many of our people are on vacation. From today's date, going backwards and forwards two weeks, we will have had church members in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Florida, and California, Germany, Argentina, and the Dominican Republic. Even though I will be traveling to the Dominican Republic July 15 for a mission trip, Mary and I are staying on the island. I suspect we will "disappear" someplace on the island for a couple of days in early August. Hope you too can enjoy a change of scenery.

Mary is almost well from her bad burn from boiling water. Her lower right leg and foot are still very tender but she gets to wear shoes (with a bandage) after almost seven weeks. We thank the Lord for this blessing.

Crew 288 flag
Church events have been fairly quiet although Fathers' Day included a special program, gifts for the dads and a nice dinner. The attendance was very good in spite of people traveling all over the place. This weekend is a church outing. We are off to Old San Juan to visit one of the historical Spaniard-built forts.
BOA Venturing Crew 288

On to other church news; the church's BOA Venturing Crew 288 (named after the church's incorporation date) officially presented itself to the congregation last Sunday. The church people warmly received them.

Mission project
Coming up in July is a kid's day camp, the missions trip to the Dominican Republic to build a house for a needy family and to evangelize, and another church outing the end of the month. I believe that covers the main points. Until next time...
