September 10

"Hola" from the tropics. It seems like the temperature is starting to drop...in your part of the world. We still have another month of very hot weather before we see a SMALL change in weather patterns including the threat of tropical storms/hurricanes. So far, except for Isaac's close passage by the island; we have had an uneventful hurricane season.

The last two Sundays have returned to pre-summer attendance patterns. The count yesterday was at ninety. This year has been a year of moves for some of our congregation. All across the island, so many people leave in search of better job prospects. This year our congregation has lost two families. Nevertheless new families are quickly identifying themselves with our congregation. Thus the attendance remains about the same. If we counted those of our church that have left the island throughout the years the number would easily rise to over one-hundred.

Yesterday was Grandparents' Day. A nice program fit for the occasion was presented by some of the children and followed up with sweets for every grandparent.

This coming week we are anticipating the arrival of the last of the missions teams this year. A group of twenty-three will be coming from KY to work on several projects we have lined up. I am sure they will be a blessing to the lives and ministries they touch.

Until next time. May the Lord bless you.
