December 7, 2012

Hello everyone. It is kind of a blustery day here on the island. It rained all night and was followed by a “cold” front. Temperatures are in the upper-seventies. On to church matters…

Since out last blog the church completed its third benevolence project and began its final effort for 2012. The church members identified four families in the community that needed a helping hand for Thanksgiving. Most of the church members brought in assigned foods and the church bought the turkeys and anything missing to supply the Thanksgiving "fixens" for these families. Then, the next Sunday, the believers began to bring in items to help out an orphanage here in town. This last project will end the first of January.

Of course, Thanksgiving is always celebrated in our congregation. We had a fine turn-out the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Almost everyone piled down to the basement to enjoy a great meal.

Once again this year we held our Ministries Fair the end of November. This year we have fifteen ways for the church members to become involved in the congregation. So far the response has been excellent.

December is promising to be a busy month. The 15th, a trio will be coming in to play Christmas music for the church. Then, the 23rd is the day chosen for our church to celebrate Christmas. There will be no service in the morning. Rather, an evening meal followed by a Christmas drama written by one of our church members. For the 30th, our children are preparing a “danza” (dance routine) portraying the birth of Christ. Finally, January 6, Three Kings Day, a fourteen piece Christian band will be presenting a concert for the Sunday morning service.

I'll close here but Mary and I will touch base with you again before Christmas. As always, thanks for your interest in what we are doing for the Lord in Aguadilla, PR and throughout the island.
