April 8

Hi everyone. Its nice to touch base with you again. Blessings on your day.

Since our last blog, Mary and I made a quick five day trip to Dallas. Our nephew, Mike Montgomery, and his fiancée, Sharon May, invited my brother and I to officiate at their wedding Saturday, April 6. It was a beautiful, fun affair and most of the extended family as well as many friends were present to witness their vows.

While we were gone the church celebrated Easter week, always a big event throughout the island. This year our Fine Arts director wrote a play which emphasized the Lord's second coming and the importance of being ready for that sure event. In spite of hard rains all afternoon and into the evening, the church building was full and nudged the one-hundred mark. We had a team assisting with parking, ushers dispensing commemorative tokens to all present and refreshments served after the service. That evening while in Dallas, we received a couple of text messages lauding the high quality of the entire evening.

Easter Sunday, since we were in the States, the church enjoyed a guest speaker who did a fine job speaking about the resurrection. The church record indicated there were ninety-six present. The kids of course had an Easter egg hunt, always a lot of fun for everyone.

Yesterday we had a good attendance; ninety, I believe. People came with an up-beat attitude and sang their hearts out. Several visitors were in attendance. At the end of the service, I took a teenager’s profession of faith and then baptized her, much to delight of everyone, especially her parents.

There are good things planned in April including a men’s retreat planned for this weekend. Our church is in charge of this event. We’ll let you know how it went next time.

Thanks for reading the blog.
