Hi. Hope this day finds you well and honoring the Lord with enthusiasm. Thanks for stopping by the blog site. Perhaps you have noticed we've been "under the radar" for a few weeks. Lets update you.

In the past, July has typically been the "slow month" for the church. This year has been no exception. So many members take their vacations at that time (including ourselves) and seem to go in a dozen different directions. Thus, attendance always falls off till mid-August...until school starts again. So, instead of the upper nineties or low one-hundreds the attendance was in the eighties. However, it is a temporary glitch and everything seems to be fundamentally sound from all I can deduce.

Some of the kids at VBS
We did have had a couple of events in July that I should mention. First, some of our youth did a camping trip at one of the state parks. It was a first time experience for most all of them.

And, like most churches, we had a VBS but limited it to one Saturday. Week long VBSs have not been successful nor productive for our church so we have opted for a one-day, all day long event.  I believe we had a total of twenty-five for the activity including kids and faculty.

Last Saturday we had a church outing. Thirty-five of us hopped on a big yellow school/charter bus and went to an restored eighteenth century sugar cane hacienda. It was a great day. These events have been a surprising plus for our church. Years ago when the first one was planned the bus was quickly filled. Almost all subsequent outings have been well attended as well. As one member said, "It helps people get to know each other a little better in a non-worship setting."

Well, I guess that is it for now. We will be getting back to publishing this blog bi-weekly and of course, keep you posted of any updates. Thanks again for your interest in our ministry.
