April 28

Good morning everyone. Hope all is well with you. Let's review the past couple of weeks.

Easter week was a busy time for the church as perhaps it was in the church you call home. Several of our church members met nearly every night the last week to put the finishing touches on the Good Friday drama, a portrayal of the Prodigal Son. The team did a fine job and had the opportunity to present the drama to a full house.

A couple of days later, a group of twenty-two of us met for a "sunrise" service (okay, it was at 6:30 A.M.) followed by a great breakfast. The church dismissed Sunday School and met for the worship service only. We were at one-hundred and ten in attendance. The kids presented a drama/song/interpretive dance and then I preached on the resurrection as probably did most every pastor around the world. While I preached, the kids had their Bible lesson and then enjoyed an Easter egg hunt. Sound familiar?

Last weekend we met on the church grounds for a family camp-out. There was a total of thirty-three in attendance. The evening's events included a group activity, devotional, campfire, and of course, food and fellowship. We wrapped up the camp around 4:00 P.M. the next day.

I told Mary last Sunday afternoon, "Thank goodness, there is nothing planned for the next two weekends. I want to catch my breath." She wholeheartedly agreed with me!

The remainder of the days were spent giving evangelistic Bible studies, doing some limited crisis counseling, visiting church members, planning, organizing and executing church events, helping clean the church grounds with other men in the congregation, making hospital calls and preparing sermons and Wednesday Bible studies. In between that I have been nursing my wife a little (she has the flu) and did my job as grandpa which included afternoon pick-up from school and giving our granddaughter a piano lesson each day.

That wraps it up! May God fill your life with joy, hope and peace.
