June 7

Good morning to everyone. Hope the summer is going well for you. Since our last blog the Asbury University basketball team has come and gone. The young men and their coach were a blessing to many people. They painted two houses of people who needed a helping hand as well as continued the restoration of another we had begun in April. (It is amazing the difference a couple coats of paint will make.) In the evening hours we were able to arrange four
basketball games with teams that matched their playing skills. We are grateful for their help.

Also, since our last blog we have had a Kids' Day for the little ones ages ten and down. This is a new activity that has been added this year to the church calendar. The monthly event is slowing gathering steam. The photo depicts some of the kids/parents who attended.

On the heels of that event was an island-wide youth activity on June 1. Aguadilla decided to spearhead this monthly event and the others churches are giving it their support. Most importantly, it is gaining strength and popularity among the youth.

Two weeks ago we had our honors day for the graduates in our church. We had students from kinder to a Masters in Mathematics receive a gift from the church and a shared cake at the end of the service.

Summer will be busy. Presently we have been helping out a little with Athletes in Action. My primary responsibility has been to set up some games for two of their teams. Other upcoming events include some visiting  missions teams, Fathers' Day (a big event with all the trimmings), a youth camp-out, an all-church excursion, and other children's events.

I had the privilege to baptize a lady last Tuesday. She and her husband have been attending our church for nearly two years. It was a sweet moment for her, her husband and the entire church.

Mary will be in the States for about three weeks so I will "hold the fort down" while she is gone.

I'll "see you" in a couple of weeks. Thanks for reading the blog.  God bless you.
