September 8

Hola from sunny Puerto Rico. I wanted to bring you up to date on the last couple of weeks.

Church building in Aguadilla
August 25 was the date selected for Friendship Day. It is an annual event in the church calendar. This year we had a guest singer present the program. She, Noemi Luz, is the best female singer the church has ever had. She did a wonderful job singing and exhorting the people. There were a couple of re-dedications at the end of the service. Gifts were given to each guest and the service was followed by munchies in the basement. Our attendance count was one-hundred and fifteen which means we had a full house.

The following Saturday we enjoyed the second outing of the church this year. Sixty-one people piled into two nice excursion type buses to travel to the San Juan area to visit a new park that even boasts a funicular (sky tram). What a wonderful day it was. We use these events to invite friends and introduce them to our church. Since the outing we have had a couple of people attending the Sunday church service.

Today, September 8, was Grandparents Day. The church was nearly full with around one-hundred present. The kids did a song dressed as angels and then a group of six adults did an outstanding job with a pantomime. Gifts were given to each grandparent and everyone shared cake and refreshments at the conclusion of the service.

Until next time...may the Lord bless you.

Johnathan and Mary
