March 2, 2008

This past weekend nine of our ladies went to the annual women's retreat. Several who went said they had a great time. Mary also commented that it was very good and a positive spirit pervaded the entire event.

As for our services, the attendance was down somewhat. Several of our families were out for reasons unknown although I suspect sickness. The flu has been going around and nearly every family in our church has been hit by it.

Speaking of sickness, Mary returned from the retreat with an eye problem. Apparently a spider bit her while she slept. So we took a trip to the emergency room this evening. We just got back. Tomorrow she is off to see a specialist.

That's all for now. The very best to you this week.

NEXT DAY: Monday, March 3: After a visit to the doctor, we discovered Mary apparently has a viral infection not a spider bite as first suspected. So, hopefully with God's blessing and proper medication she should mend well. Meanwhile she is a pretty miserable "little girl".
