November 20

Good afternoon. Thanksgiving is right around the corner. The year has flown by. I have just a couple of things to report since the last blog. First, a couple of people have been immersed these past two weeks. For a long time, I had wanted to baptize these dear friends and faithful church attendees. Although I had talked with them on several occasions, for personal reasons they felt the timing was not right. That moment finally arrived and the whole congregation celebrated with them.

We are in the process of getting the church organized for 2017. We try to practice the teaching of Ephesians 4:11-13 which indicates everyone is called to serve. Everyone is to be involved. This year so far, the clear majority of the people have signed up for at least one of the sixteen ministry opportunities the church will offer. We ask God's blessings on these plans.

Christmas starts early in PR, around Thanksgiving, and goes late, till mid-January. Yesterday we began the season by celebrating Thanksgiving at the church. The church provided the meat and seven or eight families supplied the rest. What a great meal we enjoyed. After dinner and a short worship service, we were delighted by a concert of traditional Christmas music produced by a group of five from the mountains of Puerto Rico. They did a wonderful job.

That catches the high points. Mary and I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. Blessings to each of you.
