That Sunday we had a guest speaker substitute for me. Luis Concepcion, known across the island, sang and preached. The church members said he did a wonderful job and many were blessed by his preaching and singing.
Today, December 2, I was back in the pulpit. I had expected attendance would be down somewhat due to heavy rain and strong winds. Indeed it was down somewhat but not as much a I had expected. The mood was subdued, but positive.
The children are practicing to play the bells December 30 and the adult choir is working hard to have everything ready for their concert December 23. May the Lord add his blessing to their efforts.
Another family is leaving next week. This has been a tough year for our church. We have lost nearly 15% of our church to moves to the States. The economy continues to languish and the people are having to move to the US for a better lifestyle. Nevertheless, the Lord has brought in many new faces throughout the year so the losses have almost been totally replaced. We continue to work hard for the Lord and believe this work is His work even when there are not only "ups" but some "downs" as well.
Well folks I will close here. We hope you have a great week. God bless you.
Johnathan and Mary.
