February 13

Girls' interpretive dance team
Good morning. February has always been a busy month for the church. This year is no exception. February 12, the church celebrated Valentine's/Friendship Day. It was a fine event. With many guests present, we began with an exuberant song service. Before the message several of the young girls did an interpretive dance exalting Christ. Our speaker, an author of several books, chose  to speak on (guess what) love/friendship. To close the service a simple but beautiful gift was given to each person present. Outside on the lawn (it is 80 degrees here) cake and some soda provided a little time to socialize with each other and our guests. The attendance for the day was one-hundred and nineteen. Very few chairs remained unoccupied.

Friendship Day, Feb. 12
Before the final amen we had the delight of witnessing a friend and attendee make a profession of faith and be baptized. The church was delighted and broke out in song.

This coming weekend will be a busy time as well. A few women are signed up to attend the annual Womens Day Retreat sponsored by a sister church in the area. For those that stay in Aguadilla, the United Womens ministry will meet for their first quarterly event. Also, that same Saturday the United Mens group are scheduled to met. Several of the guys are meeting to discuss the spiritual discipline of fasting.

The church is also pushing to meet its first of four benevolence goals. We are collecting personal items and toiletries for children in a local hospital as well as their parents who stay with them. Our delivery date is March 3.

Things are gearing up for Easter week. We will be treated to a drama/cantata written by one of the worship leaders. Practice begins this Thursday.

I believe that covers the highlights. Blessings on your day.
